Linus Torvalds hates C++

C++ is a horrible language. It
’s made more horrible by the fact that a lot
of substandard programmers use it, to the point where it’s much much
easier to generate total and utter crap with it. Quite frankly, even if
the choice of C were to do *nothing* but keep the C++ programmers out,
that in itself would be a huge reason to use C.

Flickr staff have recently removed a photo claiming that it violates a Yahoo! prohibition against any photo of a child smoking. Now, Flickr staff claim that a photo of a child smoking may be removed depending on some unspecified context. Which is it? The notorious Thomas Hawk has returned to Flickr to do some more rabble rousing.

First U.S. GPL lawsuit filed

Normally, GPL violations have been settled by letters from the FSF (Free Software Foundation) or other open-source organizations, pointing out the violation. For the first time in the U.S., a company, multimedia device and software vendor Monsoon Multimedia, is being taken to court for a GPL violation.
